Yogi Adityanath was appointed as the Chief Minister of UP on 18 March 2017. Also, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma were appointed as deputy-CMs. During the 2017 UP assembly elections, there were 7.7 crore male voters, while there were 6.3 crore female voters. During the 2017 assembly elections, the NDA alliance i.e. BJP Plus got a total of 325 seats. Out of this, BJP alone had fielded its candidates on 384 seats, in which it won 312 seats. In the other two parties of BJP alliance, Apna Dal (Sonelal) won nine out of 11 seats and Bharatiya Suheldev Samaj Party won four out of eight seats.
