IAF Recruitment 2021 Age limit:
- Candidate born between 16 January 2001 and 29 December 2004 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

IAF Recruitment Education Qualification:
⇒ Airman Group X Trade (Except Education Instructor Trade):
- Intermediate / 10 + 2 / equivalent examination from Mathematics, Physics and English The Board of Education is listed as a COBSE member with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. or Passed a three-year diploma course in engineering in any stream, as mentioned in the drop down menu Apply online section under login of candidate on CASB web portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in.
- The candidate should have completed the course from a government recognized polytechnic institute 50% marks in aggregate course and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in intermediate / matriculation, if English is not a subject in a diploma course).
⇒ Airmen Group Y Trade (Except Automobile Technician, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician Trades):
- Intermediate / 10 + 2 / equivalent examination passed Any stream / subject approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in total marks and 50% marks in English. Or
- Have passed two years of vocational course in education The board is listed as a COBSE member with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Professional. In the course or intermediate / matriculation, if English is not a subject of vocational course.
⇒ Airmen Group Y Trade (Medical Assistant):
- Passed 10 + 2 / Intermediate / equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from an education board listed as a COBSE member with at least 50% marks 50% marks in aggregate and English.
IAF Mandatory Medical Standards:
General Medical Standards for both Group ‘X’ (except Education Instructor Trade) and Group Instruct Y (Excluding IAF (S) and Musicians Trades) as follows:
- Height: The minimum allowable height is 152.5 centimeters except for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades. However, The minimum allowable height for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades is mentioned below: – For IAF (P) trade – 165 cm (for NE and hill states) 175 Cms (for other states) -162.5 cm (for NE and for auto tech) Hill States) 165 cm (for other states).
- Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However, minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only.
- Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.
- Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing ie be able to compel hearing Whisper from 6 meters apart with each ear separately.
- Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
- General Health: Candidate should be General Anatomy without loss of any appendage. It should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, Medical or surgical disability or infection and dermatitis. The candidate will be physically and mentally FIT Duty in any part of the world, in any climate and locality.

IAF Vacancy 2021 Pay & Allowances:
During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600 / – will be paid per month. Upon completion of training Military Service Pay (MSP), initial gross salary at minimum scale including group ‘X’ Salary (applicable only for group ‘X’ trades) and dearness allowance (DA) will be as follows: –
⇒ Group ‘X’ Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade):
Rs.33,000 / – per month plus dearness allowance (As applicable), which may increase in subsequent years according to the progress of the person’s career.
⇒ Group ‘Y’ [Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades]:
Rs.26,900 / – per month plus dearness allowance (As applicable), which may increase in subsequent years according to the progress of the person’s career.
IAF Job 2021 Selection Process:
- Phase I: Online Test
- Phase II: Verification of Eligibility, Physical Test (Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.), Adaptability Test I, Adaptability Test II.
- Phase III: Medical Examination
